Using safety switches
If a Safety Switch has tripped and cut off power, it may be that the fault was temporary or due to lightning. Resetting the Safety Switch should restore the power.
- If the Safety Switch will not reset due to a faulty electrical appliance or wiring, switch off and unplug any appliance you think might be faulty, turn off the circuit breaker, or remove the fuse on the faulty circuit before resetting the Safety Switch.
- Any faulty electrical appliances should be repaired.
- If you cannot get the Safety Switch to reset, call a licensed electrical contractor to find and repair the fault.
Check each Safety Switch every one to three months by pressing the TEST button to make sure that it is still working. This should trip the Safety Switch immediately - if it doesn't, call a licensed electrical contractor to have it replaced.
