South Australian energy concessions

The SA Energy Concession is  funded by the South Australian Government to reduce the cost of energy to eligible customers. On 1 January 2004 the state Government increased the SA Energy Concession from $70 per year to $120 per year.

The Government provides the Energy Concession through a rebate of $120 per year to all eligible South Australian consumers who are connected to the electricity grid. The concession is provided through a reduction to the consumer's electricity bill, for administrative simplicity. Even though the concession is applied through the electricity bill, it is a concession for household energy consumption, be it  gas or electricity.

For more information please visit the SA energy concessions.

Choosing your energy supplier

Since January 1 2003 South Australians have been able to choose their electricity retailer, and since July 28 2004 all South Australian gas customers have been able to choose their gas retailer too.
